The A2 textbook for Science in Society is now available

The book covers the six A2 topics, showing how ideas about how science works apply to these topics. There is a particular emphasis on the ideas that are new in A2 such as dynamic modelling. The new science explanations are fully explained, showing the depth of understanding expected.

The chapters include profiles of scientists and explanations of their work. Each chapter offers about 80 questions to test understanding and to raise interesting issues. A complete set of answers to these questions will be available on this web site. Like the AS book, the new text is highly illustrated with photographs and diagrams.

The book is complemented by schemes of work and activities on this web site including activities to help students prepare for the unit 4 assessment. We have just published a scheme of work along with some activities for units 3.1, 3.3, and 3.6.
