Teachers explore the new A level at AQA launch meetings
Groups of teachers are hearing about the new Science in Society specification at a series of meetings in different parts of the country. These sessions are led by members of the examining team also involved in the development of resources at Nuffield. They provide the chance to consider the new specification in some depth and also consider the resources we are preparing. There has been opportunity to discuss where the course might fit into the whole curriculum. We have also discussed the assessment styles and how best to prepare students. The response so far is very positive and points raised will inform further development.

Teachers at the Newcastle meeting
A few further meetings are scheduled this term. For dates and further information, see the AQA web site. If you haven't been able to get to a meeting in your area or can't make the remaining date(s) or venue(s) then do let Simon Miles in AQA Teacher Support (0161 957 3925) know of your interest so that he can set up appropriate additional meetings next term.
Everyone who has attended one of these meetings should receive a hard copy of the final version of the specification when new AQA binders are ready in a few weeks time. If you want the same then make sure you register at 'Ask AQA' specifying 'Science in Society' as your subject.
